I found some Nigori sake that was on sale at the local liquor store and decided to give it a try. It's definitely less harsh than some of the other types, and I can definitely see why it's said to taste fruity. It's also apparently not recommended to be served warm, since that's generally used for sakes that aren't as good since the heat masks the bitter taste.

When I was out I also went into a produce store and the guy there asked me about it since he could see it poking out of my bag, and he laughed when I told him that in Japan you have to be careful if you're out with a group and keep draining your cup since they'll keep refilling it. He also liked that the kanji for 100 is actually shaped like a sake barrel.

I also used my great grandma's sake cups to drink, it which is their intended use unlike when my former roommate's friends used them for Irish carbombs (i.e. a situation very likely to chip them).
