Ring, sing, oblivion preventing,
The words "fifteen years old" in my soul.
Why, did I grow up and become big?
Nothing consoles.
Just yesterday, into green grove of birches
Free, in the morning I ran away.
Just yesterday I frolicked without hairdo,
Just yesterday!
Spring ringing of the far-away belltowers
Told me: "Run and sit and lie!"
And every step frolicking was allowed,
And every cry!
What is ahead? What failure lies before me?
In all deceit, all is forbidden.
Thus, crying, with dear childhood I parted
At age fifeen.
----
For the record, this is the translation, and it's actually more catchy in Russian. She has an interesting way of rhyming and rhythm that unfortunately gets lost in translation. The sad thing is she killed herself after she fled to Paris after the revolution.

Jun. 9th, 2006 10:17 pmBesides filling up the gas tank on the Prizm today *15 bucks to only fill it up half way? Ouch!* and cleaning the pollen that had collected off the windshield, I also bought another bumpersticker for it, giving me a total of 2 full sized ones and two smaller ones. I don't think I'll put any more on just to keep it from getting too crazy.
But anyway, I now have one that's philisophical, one that's serious, and one that's funny* arranged in that order.
The philisophical:
"Hatred can only be stilled by non-hatred." - Buddha
The Political:
"Keep Abortion Legal" (which is from NARAL that I found after I did a big project on abortion rights earlier this year)
And the funny:
"Evolve, Damn it!"
I think it's a good balance, and expresses my personality pretty well. ^_^ And at the moment I'm going to try calling the car "Tomo" (from the Japanese word for friend) after I thought of it yesterday. And luckily it's not hyper like the Tomo from Azumanga Daioh.
* This is strange because I once heard the symbolism in FLCL described the same way, with each bit of symbolism being tri-fold in having one obvious aspect, one deep aspect and one funny aspect, the guitars spring to mind showing this especially.
