I've in the past established that I severely dislike Mitt Romney, but he seems intent to give me even more reasons to:
Romney targets gay marriage in new ad
Most hypocritical line:
"As Republicans we must oppose discrimination and defend traditional marriage: one man, one woman," Romney says in the spot.
So denying the right to marry to loving gay couples is opposing discrimination? On what planet?! Bizarro Romney World where people name their kids Tag? (I kid you not, his son really is named Tag)
But, Richard Cohen from the Washington Post did a brilliantly on-point satirical editorial a few weeks back (which I clipped out) that said the following:
"Mitt Romney said he had realized halfway through his term as Massachusetts governor that he really was against abortion, gun control and gay marriage and had been getting things backwards most of his natural life. He promptly changed his name to Timm Romney and insisted it had been his name all along."
Nice.

Date: 2007-09-19 02:35 pm (UTC)I HATE REPUBLICANS. Period. Part of me is inclined to believe he thinks he can win votes by drawing a hard line on controversial issues. But that sort of thing usually backfires in the worst possible way.
Isn't he getting a late start in the race anyhow? Most of the other candidates have been hard at work campaigning for months now.
