[X/1999] [Fanmix] Angels

fst the new prompt turned out to be "Dead Characters", and I happened to be reading part of the X manga a few days ago and of a particular character whose death could probably be characterized as being the moment when all Hell breaks loose. I'm purposely not saying who above the cut to avoid spoilers (an actual guideline for this challenge) but the icon is a clue for those who know the story. Anyway, spoilerific fanmix underneath.

This song just really reminds me of her, and sets up the mood for the rest of it.

Kotori and Kamui when he first returns, when it's essentially a cat and mouse game where he doesn't want to get close to her and Fuuma for fear of hurting them.

Kotori's relationship with her mother, especially the darker turn it takes when they meet in a vision.

The impending decision on whether Kamui should save the Earth or destroy it, and all the consequences thereof (and yes, the "earthquake weather" line is quite appropriate for X's storyline).

Unfortunately when Kamui's aunt Tokiko explodes in a bloody mess while birthing the second Shinekn, Kotori sees it and goes a little nuts, and by nuts I mean carrying the dead lady's head around, laughing creepily and remembering when she witnessed the result of the same thing happening to her own Mother.

Her first encounters with Kakyou in the dreamscape and the realization of the life of a Dreamseer.

And the clouds don't ever change the shape of who I am to You

In the first battle she allows Kakyou to take over her body and save Kamui.

Even though she's dead, Kotori's not quite done giving guidance just yet...

She knew that her life had passed her by
She called out a warning.
Don't ever let life pass you by.
