Anvil? What Anvil? *is hit by one*

New icon. Because Kino is my hero, looks great in glasses, and has a great "What is this shit?" look in this picture. The fact that she's leaning into the frame adds to the effect.

In other news, today we went to see my (God)Aunt Su in the opening day of her production of a new musical version of The Phantom Tollbooth. She was the Demon of Insincerity and was quite good in her role, despite the difficulties of wearing a dress that must have been hot as hell and according to her looked like it came "from a house of ill repute" while in heels. Impressive.

The production was actually pretty amazing in that the main kid was played by an actual 11-year-old who was simply amazing. Su's son Morgan was also there, and even though I hadn't seen him in a while we clicked as soon as we saw each other. We've known each other since we were infants and our mothers worked together years before that, so I guess it's only natural. He's still pretty easily stimulated, though he seems to have toned that down for the better. Still, he's fun to be around.

The last time I saw the story was in an animated version when I was a kid, probably with Morgan at his house, and now that I'm grown up I can see that some aspects of the story are pretty Anvilicious (read: as subtle in its message as an anvil to the head). I mean, how else would you make "Learning is good!" any more obvious? At least I get some of the jokes now about Rhyme and Reason.

We also got to hang out with Margaret and Guy a bit more before they went back to Logan to catch their tour bus. Guy turned out to be pretty talkative (though he's apparently usually shy) and it was fun to see Su again. I didn't really talk to Margaret too much, but she seemed nice. Nonetheless it's nice to have the house back again, though they were fun to have for the most part.

I also ended up asking Su (who has been married to her wife Chris for several years now after coming out as a lesbian) what it means when a woman who's flirting with you touches your back, since that's happened 3 times to me now (with separate people) and I was wondering if it's some type of code. She didn't know, but apparently it's happened to her too. So it's still a mystery, but at least I'm not the only one who's had that happen. Always manages to scare me when someone does that, but I guess it's a way of flirting.

Tomorrow I've got to work and then go to The Plant, but other than that it should be a normal week.
