Slow day at work was slow. So between doing some schoolwork I threw this icon together in light of the recent Tsubasa WTFery that I won't go into here for lack of space and not really caring. This was more or less my response to it.

So yeah, Tsubasa + Futurama quote. Though for some reason the .gif has lines in it that I can't get rid of. *shrug* I saved it as a PSD, so might try to fix it again later.

By the way, cleaning up the image of the twins was a bitch to do since they were on a dark background. That took me even longer than the timing on the .gif.

Don't worry if you don't get both parts of the joke in the icon, it's a multi-tiered joke of nerdiness.

The other day I tried to spruce up the instant ramen we made after getting back from Boston with mixed results. I threw these things together in my attempt of Rosemary Style cheap-ass Ramen, which includes:

• 1 packet instant ramen noodles, chicken flavor
• 2 dozen approximately one inch diameter cubes of tofu we have left over, browned in some sesame oil
• About a handful of peas to add some color
• A sprig of parsley

Result was edible but a bit bland, until we thought to add a bit of soy sauce to it. Not a very good idea, might try more sesame oil next time for flavor. I also wondered if perhaps I should have tried an egg (insert "Mother and Child reunion" joke here) or something similar.

And in case people are wondering, my skills with food are mostly limited to brownies and the like and heating stuff up, though I can cook breakfast (fried eggs, bacon, english muffins etc) fairly competently. I've been trying to teach myself this stuff in preparation for going off to college, but the results have been a bit... interesting, to say the least.

One of the funniest parts of Easter was actually Dad instructing me how to chop vegetables for a salad, since I didn't know which way to cut them. I thought it was a fairly good salad in the end considering I kept having to be reminded to wash the vegetables, but you have to start somewhere. ^_^;

Created this pixel avatar via some Japanese website I found. I think it's a decent resemblance (though they didn't have my exact facial structure or mouth) and I was actually wearing a shirt of that color while making it.

And Jesse-cat was sitting behind me, hence the kitten, a sort of Mini-Jesse/Kuroneko-sama. And the blush because it made me look less serious. I'm actually sort of a goof, though I'm not the face-splitting-smile type. I think it works.

And as I was making it I put a mustache on it by accident, and you know what?

I really do look like a guy. Huh.

In 24 hours I'll be on a plane to Shannon in Ireland. Meep. I'm mostly packed, the girl watching our animals has our key, we have plenty of crickets for the geckoes, and we picked up a digital camcorder from my aunt to record our adventures. It'll certainly be one.

Luckily we don't have to personally drive ourselves to Logan Airport, we're having a company called Valley Transporter that we've used before take us. They took me to Bradley a few years ago, and I liked the people there. Plus when they come through at work they usually tip. ;)

I've packed plenty of book, knowing realistically that I probably won't get to them all, and will take Leto the computer to stay in some contact (God, I'm an addict) plus hopefully do some writing. And because I'm a techie I looked up a list of WiFi hotspots in Ireland for reference but found out that very few of these are free. Still, I'll figure something out, and the hotels we're staying in might have their own. Apparently Ireland has more per capita in terms of hotspots than the US. So we'll just have to see what comes our way.

In terms of reading material, I'm bringing the following:

Oh, and I have to remind myself that I need to take the Swiss Army Knife off my keychain, since that might not go over well with airport security. 0_0

And randomly as I was typing this post I thought of this icon. And even more randomly if Hokuto shows up in Tsubasa (I still have my fingers crossed) I want her to be in a lesbian relationship with Tomoyo. JUST BECAUSE.

And also changed my theme to Hanafuda February in honor of going to Old Eire. Might as well, to commemorate it and add a little color. Plus it'll be a lot cooler over there, which is lucky because it's supposed to be 95 degrees tomorrow. My mom and I both agree that we're getting out just in time, since it's only in the 60s and 70s over there.

And in four minutes it will be travel day. Perfect time to go to bed.

Well that was a nice surprise. I get back from my church rafting trip with a notice that my account has been upgraded to a permanent one (courtesy of my mom ♥) and of course the first thing I did was upload more icons. Yeah, I've got my priorities straight, but I'm glad I get to use this Hokuto icon. She just doesn't get enough love. ^_^

Rafting was fun, though I think I'm fairly dehydrated since I'm having trouble concentrating and have my head up in the clouds right now. *sips ginger ale* Paddling takes a lot more energy than it looks like. Our guide was pretty nice, and I probably got sunburned despite using sunscreen (that just always seems to happen) and my knees are bruised from falling out of the boat at one point, but I'm content. Tomorrow I know that I'll be feeling the tumble I took, but I don't really care right now.

Next week will be fairly quiet, but considering that we'll be going away the week after next it should work out. My mom's going off on a trip with our minister, so my dad and I will fend for ourselves for a while. I've actually been wanting to try some Japanese recipes, so this might just work out. *cackles evilly* Just need to find some place that sells dashi...

I also need to call my music teacher once I can coherantly string a sentence together (I put this down partially so I would,l remember) and apologize for accidentally standing him up by forgetting that we had a make up lesson today and wasn't able to go there due to the rafting trip. I hate doing that to people, so I might buy him a fruit basket for putting him through that. There was just too much to deal with and it slipped my mind. *sigh* I hate doing that to people since I hold them to such a high standard, so I know how it feels to have someone mess up. Maybe I'll make him some miso soup...
