So far so good

Well, my copy of Windows 7 arrived in the mail today and I just got it up and running on this computer. Nothing has gone wrong so far and the computer seems to be zipping along even more than before, which is impressive considering how fast it was. I think this Penny Arcade strip sums up most people's experience with it so far.

So no complaints, but then again I seem to be one of the few people who didn't have a major beef with Vista in the first place. I'll play around with it and figure out what they've done with it, but so far no complaints.

And yes, the fact that I did not have to pay for this (it came free with the new computer) does increase the enjoyment.

Win7 is indeed much faster! Brought some joy to a laptop I was ready to sell because of Vista. :D

So it seems faster for you too, eh? That's interesting, I wonder if it takes up less space or something.

I was just thinking that it hasn't really changed how I use my computer, which is maybe a good thing. I know a big complaint about Vista was that it was intrusive, but this one doesn't seem like that so far.

I remember Vista being around 4GB and Win 7, as soon as I saw the file size, which is around 2GB - I knew that it would be indeed much faster.

Well it behaves pretty much like vista, however, it also behaves like a MAC OSX too the way you can move the icons around -- I really like Win 7, its so beautiful!

It's now a trend to make very complex things with a minimum size, which also is more efficient and doesn't take too much RAM.

Some examples of programs which are awesome and are very small in size are:
- UTorrent
- IMG Burn
- Win 7

Doesn't surprise me that it's about half the size, so they wised up to that at least. My new laptop has 4gb of RAM so it already runs pretty well, but it definitely seemed to zip along after I installed it. I think they've taken cues from these open source programs that are pretty small but can do a lot.
