From "squee" to "grr" in 60 seconds flat
Apr. 23rd, 2006 03:16 pmI'd noticed yesterday in Best Buy the Escaflowne complete collection and today decided it was worth the 35 out of my savings for all 26 episodes. Then I find out all but one of the 8 discs doesn't work.
Edit: Now the replacement doesn't work either. Just great. I hope it's just a bad batch. but I'm quite annoyed.
But thank god for sales receipts. My dad's going back out to buy some stuff for his fishing-fly tying ("I have to paint some eyes on some stipers") so he'll take me to exchange it. There was one other at the store that hopefully won't have the same problem (I'm considering bringing my laptop just to be sure they work) and I have a feeling they'll order it for me if it's been ganked before we get there.
I also did a quick lookup on Amazon and it appears no one else has had this problem with it. My guess is I just had bad luck this time around. Oh well. At least it can be exchanged.
And in other news I think I have a stomach bug of some sort that was keeping me up through most of last night. It calmed down at lunch (we went to a place called Stable's that has really good breakfast food since it was mild) but is back again. With any luck it'll be gone by tommarrow. Granted I have school tomarrow but I would like to get back to work on a project in Computer Graphics that I've been thinking about over the break that I may post a draft of. And the teacher's gonna show me how to vector, which will definately be good if I'm going to do wallpapers.
And I drove for a bit to get experience on wet surfaces. It was actually rather nice driving when no one was on the road. And the Prius has a steady rate of 50mpg going at the moment, FYI. Yay for ecoconservatism!
Oh, and Happy Earth Day!
