Not sure I like the assassination victim part, but oh well...
Happy blind patriotism day! *sarcastic*
Jul. 4th, 2006 06:52 pmHappy 4th of July! I actually sorta got the holiday off like I was supposed to, thanks to bad weather and management that said "Aw, screw it" and sent everyone hom five minutes after I got to work. I ended up meeting the parentcia for lunch, since they were headed out anyway, saw Chris working at EB Games and chatted for a bit, did some DDR and then came home and played Street Fighter Alpha for a bit and beat Chun Li's storyline. I'm not gonna see any firewords because of the traffic and bad weather expeceted tonight, which is okay with me. Maybe next year. I also ran into the parade as I was headed back and got delayed by the very traffic I was trying to avoid. That was aggrevating, but I managed to get back okay.
So tomorrow I'm going to have to go in two hours earlier to make up for today, but then I have the rest of the week off. I'm actually getting paid Thursday when I'm off, but since I'm planning on going to Iaido and Kendo in the evening I'll pick up my check (and free wash) before Iaido starts.
My parents and I watched the Discovery launch over lunch since the restaurant had a TV tuned to CNN. I'm glad that everything went okay, and couldn't help making a crack about it being the biggest firework set off this year. ;)
And I just read the news on North Korea. Tsk tsk, that's a stupid move. That's a pretty screwed up country in the first place, but now they've got most of the world watching them like a hawk. Either way this isn't going to end well for them. I just hope not too many people get hurt.
