Jul. 19th, 2006 08:19 pmNow I know why people like Fridays. I realize today's Wednesday, but I don't have to go back to work and actually do any work except to get my paycheck tomorrow. It's a nice feeling to know that you don't have to come back for 2 weeks, and almost elicited a yell of "So long suckers! Bwhahah!" before I remembered that I was the last one out. Oh well. Going 60 down the highway with Maroon 5 turned up loud has the same effect. Woo hoo!
So I've got tomorrow and Friday off before heading to the Cape, and then to Washington the next Friday. I'll likely have internet in DC, but the Cape House only has a dial up connection, which means I'll only be on ocassionally. It should be nice to relax for a bit in the sea air before getting shipped off to Smog City America for 6 days. Ugh.
Speaking of which, I went to the doctor Monday and they've put me on a new asthma med that's more preventetive than the Albuterol, which is basically only for after an attack has begun. This one, Flovent, is supposed to prevent them in the first place. It is actually a steroid, but one of the safest on the market, not at all like Pregnazone, which is pretty bad stuff. I know someone who had some pretty bad hallucinations while on it and a friend of my mother's has also had bad experiences. I was nervous when they said the word "steroid" but this is a relatively safe one that has minimal side effects. It'll take about 10 days to kick in fully, so by the time I'm in Smog City it should be working fully. I'm glad that got resolved, and my lungs certainly are too.
In the next few days I'll start packing for the trip, and then off to the Cape. Hard to believe that my summer's half over by now..
