Today's horoscope:

Conservation should be a big priority for you right now -- don't waste anything.

*glances down at the two volumes of Loveless purchased with the $13 tip from yesterday*

Heh heh... *sweatdrop*

Change happens, and it seems like right now, change is happening more often than usual. You can get used to it once you accept the rapid-fire pace of the current events. You'll soon be dealing with them like a pro.

I certainly hope the next bit is right, certainly seems like things are picking up speed. But I think I've saved up enough good karma to deal with anything that comes my way.

It looks like this summer we'll be going to Ireland, something we've been wanting to do for years. And then *gulp* I'm a senior. But, the good news is I don't think I'm going to have to worry about the SATs, since for some reason I essentially can eat standardized tests for breakfast and not have to put much prepartion in for them, so that's one monkey off my back. And I think if I keep my head on straight the last year of high school shouldn't be that hard, just have to make sure I don't get Senioritis.

Well, I'm the type who doesn't cower from change, I embrace it. Let's hope I can keep doing that.

As I was in Barnes and Noble today feeding my manga fix I began thinking about what I like and what turns me off when it comes to manga, since in some cases I can look at one page and think "Ew" while in others I fall in love instantly. I thought about it for a bit and came up with a few factors in what I take a liking to:

1. Good use of negative space and shadow/contrast (Yun Kouga's Loveless is a really good example)
2. Occasionally chibiness for comedic effect (Rurouni Kenshin or Gravitation has a decent amount)
3. A certain flow to the drawings that makes following it easier (CLAMP are experts at this)
4. Relatively angular designs of characters, I happen to like men like Watanuki to have a certain shape to the face and I tend to like character designs with high cheekbones (though Peach Pit is an exception, they have beautiful shading and a consistent style)
5. A sense of motion in clothing or hair, or even physical sensations like the smell of perfume or the ocean that you can feel (once again CLAMP are very good at this, when I look at Yuko's hair I can almost hear the sound of it swishing as she moves and can imagine the very heavy perfume I imagine her wearing)
6. A sense of warmth to certain scenes that are emotional, and not depending on words to get emotional impact through. In my opinion, if you can't say what you want through a picture alone the art needs work.

Just some things I thought of, and it seems to relate to my general philosophy as well. Makes sense, I guess.

Deviant art: Got one, but only have a few things on it.
Journal sites: Just this one.
Top bishoujo: Rider from Fate/Stay Night
Top bishonen: Watanuki from xxxHOLiC
Communities you mod: None at the moment
Fanfiction accounts: AthenAltena on FF.net, though I tend to avoid that place like the plague these days.
How evil are you?: Occasionally devious for comedic purposes, half expect to sprout fox ears on occasion. ;)
If you could be any animal you want, what animal would you be?: Probably a cat, or if not that some type of bird, maybe a hawk.
Weaknesses: Chibi things, Fluff, good music, cute things

Another thing I've been working on for a while and need to finish before the end of the month, so finally it's here.

Hey pretty, don't you wanna take a ride with me? )
