Ugh, well I said "screw it" when it came to the ski trip I was planning for today. Waking up feeling like you've bit hit with a jackhammer is usually not a good sign. But, now I don't have an excuse not to bring Hermes in to get repaired.

Speaking of which, depending on how long they take to fix him I'll be offline or at the very least not on as much, so if anyone needs to contact me email is best. God, it's amazing how dependent I am on this thing, which is why I hope it's a quick repair.

Also, some Star Trek crack I found on my mom's journal, and it made me realize just how silly that show is in the first place. The local ABC station has starting showing old episodes on Friday nights, which I watch purely for kicks. Those actors seriously didn't get paid enough. I still prefer Picard as a captain though, Kirk reminds me a bit too much of a certain chump I have to work with. e_e

Well, Hermes is now in the hands of the Geek Squad, and like a parent I'm going to be fretting until he comes back safely. But I swear if they wipe the hard drive for a speaker repair I will throw a fit. I backed up everything of importance but the idea of installing CoLinux again... *seppuku*

And since they offer tracking of the status of the repair I've bookmarked it on my dad's machine (which he's kindly offered for my use when I need it) and I'll be watching it like a hawk for the next two weeks or however long it takes. With any luck they'll have the parts they need and it'll be back in a week, with hard drive still the way I left it. *sigh* I'm being reminded of a Zits strip where the kid is tracking his order online and the dad comments "What happened to waiting by the mailbox?" But at least this system eases my mind, somewhat.

At least I can get back to FFXII, which I neglected for Okami. I should probably catch up on Scrubs while I'm Hermes-less, and get those back to Ben. So maybe this whole thing will be somewhat positive after all.

And it's a good thing I didn't go skiing today, since the weather is not good for it right now. Instead I had lunch with Madre and went shopping, where I got a new pair of pants and a kimono-like shirt that actually flatters the fact that my shoulders are wide. I tried on a similar one but decided that that type is best if you actually have some err... merchandise to show off, which I don't have too much of. Oh well, I found one that works and that's what counts.
