This morning, yet more spam offering me loans from "reputable lenders". It ticks me off.
Okay, people, I'm not dumb. I follow the news. Even before this whole financial meltdown I knew that anyone "reputable" would not use a Hotmail address to send loan offers, and in light of the meltdown it's blindingly obvious that it's a scam trying to lure in people who are unsure about the market, which frankly makes me sick. Now listening to them do the numbers on the news makes my eyes cross, but I can see a scam clear enough.
Incidentally, I signed up for an economics course next semester. My grandfather Jim was an economics professor (and a philosophy minor, ironically enough, since that's also what I'm doing) and my dad keeps saying that Jim would have been able to put his finger on this whole meltdown in a second and figure out what was wrong, mainly "what is this stuff worth?" since this whole bubble resulted in people not knowing the real value of what they were investing in, since the guys who were supposed to be regulating it fucked up.
I also sent an email to the ETP person at Greenfield so I can finally get my whole credits transfer thing sorted out. Much to my annoyance I currently can't sign up for any English courses besides 101 because of prerequisite stuff, and I really don't want to have to take that class again. Hopefully this person will help me out and get my transcript sent to Suffolk and knock a couple of requirements out, and who knows, maybe I'll even be able to graduate early.
