The problem with taking a 100 level course when I'm credit wise almost a senior is that I sometimes have to do stuff I already know because the assumption is I haven't learned it. Like write an outline for a paper and find sources, even though I could probably MLA cite something in my sleep, and in terms of academic papers and how I write them I almost never use notecards or outlines, both of which I have to hand in, so basically I have to do more work even though I know I don't need to, considering I consistently get As. *grumble*

And I'm within 1000 words of my NaNo goal. Not sure if I'll do it tonight, but this timing is good since I'm about to have to do a shit ton of school work. Luckily as managing to complete NaNo shows I can write pretty fast, so I'm pretty confident, it's just doing it on top of everything else that's a challenge.

So I'm back in Boston after Thanksgiving break, and now begins the blitz until Winter Break.

I'm glad to say that Ryu is doing a lot better, and visibly put on a lot of weight from last Tuesday. Tonight I managed to get her to take both her medicines and get her some food, so I'm very glad about that.

Sunday night when I came in our internet went down, and I had flashbacks to RCN. Apparently it was a DNS server issue that affected a lot of people around here. But that on top of being crowded on a bus made me enter Bitch Mode for a bit, which I apologized for once I had gotten some sleep, and Angelo commented later that he'd never seen me like that.

It doesn't happen often, but a combination of things resulted in a slight mental overload. I'm good now though, and this time of year tends to be when the Depression Monster strikes, so one evening of Bitch Mode is a small price to pay if I can avoid it (and I think I'd know by now if the Depression Monster was going to strike, since it tends to get really bad after Daylight Savings Time changes and it gets dark. Seasonal Affective Disorder sucks.

I also discovered this morning that I was almost out of coffee, but disaster was averted since I had just enough to make a morning cup. I went to a place down the street called Polcari's that's an old old store that sells coffee and spices (they also have a really old pull cash register that the guy there says he hates but they keep around for nostalgia) and asked what he'd recommend, and he suggested some Italian stuff called Caffe Gioia, which has this hilarious bit of Ital-glish:

This coffee blend in vacuum package doesnt contain extraneous matters. It offers the nice coffee scent just roasted and ground.

I rather like that, and I told the guys at the story that I'd tell them how it was.
