I'm starting to understand why Bostonians have such a short fuse when it comes to tourists. I'm usually pretty tolerant, but when I have a massive sinus headache and every sound feels like getting an ice pick to the prefrontal cortex my patience is diminished considerably. Especially if it's a baby crying, and there's always a baby crying!

Since the Boston Marathon is tomorrow there are a lot of people out, and naturally on the T there are a lot of people who have no clue how the T works, so they block the gates as they try to put the plastic Charlie Cards into the gate (no) or put money into the gate (also no) though at least most are smart enough to only block a few of the gates and leave the others open for people who actually know what they're doing. Now I understand to a point since I used to be one of those clueless tourists, but still, one thing I've learned from traveling, especially traveling overseas where I don't speak much of the language, is to watch the locals, see what they do and copy them. You'll probably be fine if you do that.

I do need to run out again to get more coffee for tomorrow morning, so I'll wait until the ibuprofen I took for the headache kicks in. The North End, of course, is packed with people going to restaurants, so I'll take a back route to avoid the crowds. The stuff you learn when you live here a while.
