  • 15:30 Okay, now they're getting the ducks involved?: In mystery, Boston statues sport Bruins gear t.co/moyKcYa via @BostonUpdate #
  • 16:31 @jephjacques I admit I looked up Granby to figure out if it was anywhere near my parents. It's not. #
  • 17:17 The tornadoes missed the parental units. Now I can (try to) relax, assuming it doesn't come this way next. #
  • 17:21 @transpacifique Thanks! The second I hear this thing is headed anywhere near Boston I'm grabbing the cat and running to the basement. #
  • 17:25 HOW IS THE CAT NOT FREAKING OUT OVER THE THUNDER?! Honestly, he's just cleaning himself even though it's right over our heads! #
  • 17:26 ... He's actually calmer than me, which is kind of sad, now that I think about it. #
  • 17:29 Got the cat carrier out just in case I need to grab him and run to the basement. Never thought I'd be doing something like this in Boston. #
  • 17:30 @bentonfraser There isn't enough F in the world for the amount of WTF this is causing up here. #
  • 17:32 @bentonfraser Not as far as we know, but the second I hear we are I'm running the Hell away. #
  • 18:56 @bentonfraser They're safe, those were pretty far south of them. #
  • 19:30 @bentonfraser Good God, this just never ends! #
  • 19:31 @bentonfraser I know! And worse, they're going along the highways and people are trying to get home! #
  • 19:38 @bentonfraser Of course we have no clue how to deal with them, so people are going under overpasses for cover, which is really dangerous. #
  • 20:24 @bentonfraser Though considering that DC had no idea what to do when they got that giant snowstorm I suppose it's some sort of cycle. #
  • 20:34 @bentonfraser There is still a Groton Mass, though, but because we're weird they split at some point into two towns. #
  • 20:39 @bentonfraser Not a problem, we have lots of weird towns like that. #
  • 21:16 Good God that is a lot of lightning, it's practically daylight out there. D: #
  • 21:17 But at least it's just thunder and lightning, so I count us lucky. #
  • 21:19 And it's doing all this is AFTER it wrecked up the state and spent most of its energy. Holy crap. #
  • 21:28 @bentonfraser Amen to that. It could have been far, FAR worse. #

Survived.

So we survived, obviously, though we had some impressive lightning last night. Seriously, I have never seen more lightning in my LIFE. Though everyone was watching the Bruins game so no one as paying attention (on the other hand said lightning also likely prevented shenanigans after the Bruins lost because no one wanted to go out).

They also caught some video of lightning hitting the Prudential Tower's lightning rod which was pretty impressive, though that at least was supposed to get hit.

And for some reason I am exhausted today. I think part of it is that I was really worried yesterday since it wasn't clear for a while what part of Western Mass was getting hit and I didn't know if my parents were in the line of fire, and then after that if it was going to head towards us in Boston, but everyone's okay.

I do think everyone's still in WTF mode because this sort of thing just does not happen around here, but it seems it could have been a lot worse. I have to hand it to MEMA for keeping things pretty under control.
