White Rabbit
Jul. 31st, 2004 07:41 pmEver have one of those moments when it seems like you're endlessly chasing something? I had a dream a while back that I didn't understand, but I think I do now.
I'm running in darkness, chasing someone who's running ahead of me, I can just see her back. She's wearing a kimono, and sandals, her black hair goes down her back. I'm calling her name, but she doesn't respond, she just keeps running.
I remembered this because I just finished watching an excellent movie called Millenium Actress, where the main character has been looking for a guy for years, chasing him like the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland.
It took me years, but I've finally caught the rabbit, and no way in hell am I going to let her get away again. As the woman in that movie said, "Chasing him is what I really love", but I don't agree. Chasing her was not fun, and I never intend to do that again.
I'm not going to lose sight of the white rabbit, I've already done that once.
