Back to school, and various other things
Sep. 2nd, 2005 06:46 pmSo, anyway, I'm back in school and still the in the brief "It's good to be back!" which of course won't last long. I'm in fairly good classes, got Ms. Barber-Just (yay!) the lesbian English teacher who runs the GSA and is always sunny, which is good. I have a fairly decent Biology class (it seems that now that we're Sophmores no one's goofing around. Huh.) and a good History class with a nice group of kids.
And, someone is going to make me a practice sword! Just of wood, but I've used one of his before and they're good quality (better than the stage prop I have now) and is willing to make one the right length for me to learn comfortably with while I'm still learning (he does something somewhere between fencing and kendo mostly for physical health, but is actually pretty good at the kendo aspect of it and will teach me a bit of it). Russian class is a combination of our class and the one below us, and I'm doing the homework now to get it out of the way for the 3 day weekend.
And Anime club starts next week, and they're planning to watch Macross (don't know which one) and I'm started on the posters I came up with last year for publicity. Here's a few for example:

They need to approved by Mr. Fricke (the advisor) but I think they'll work.
And in English we did a thing about reccuring symbolism, so I made a list of things that show up often in my writing, and how they relate to the human subconcious. I know where some of this comes from, but others are a bit more difficult. I'll find a symbolism dictionary and see what some of the more elusive ones mean. Here they are (Note: half of these have been ideas for stories that never got on paper but still crop up occasionally in my head):
