Sep. 23rd, 2006 09:57 pmBleh. I don't like this weather. But we had chili for dinner, which is good because I was cold and wet for a good part of the day. Reminds me of stuff I ate in Russia, where they are experts on being cold.
My birthday was good, though I came to realize how odd I am not being glued to my cellphone while in the prescence of Amarkis. He didn't do anything himself, but a friend of his we met was on it every other second. She was loud but her boyfriend was actually pretty funny. We ended up having Kistune Udon (me) real Ramen (Amarkis) Vegetable Yakisoba (Carla) Yakiniku (Mom) and Shrimp Tempura (Dad). And as you can probably tell I have a good memory for very strange stuff. ^_^
So aside from the paid account from my dad I ended up with a working Escaflowne box set (people may recall a while back I bought it with my own money only to find out it didn't work, twice) a new bag from my mom to match the sticker on my car which reads "Bushido Babe", Howl's Moving Castle on DVD, and a pair of sparkly fuzzy dice for my rear view mirror. The origin of the dice goes back to my aunt Sharon giving my dad a set of those years ago. I was once quoted when we were looking for my dad's car as saying "Nope, no dice" when a car of the same model passed without knowing the bad pun I'd made. I must have been 8 at the time.
Work went okay since Signore Jackass from Chicopee left early and not much was happening. I got some work done on a lab report since I brought the laptop, alas I can't find an internet connection from there. I'm also almost done with the Tomoe fanmix, but just need a few more manga images of her for the inserts. In the category of weird ways my mind works I can remember song lyrics well enough to type them without looking at them, as I did that 3 times with the fanmix being away from the web, without listening to the songs. The versatile MP3 player known as my head strikes again. Speaking of MP3 players, tomorrow I should try to take it to Best Buy (my real MP3 player, not my head) to have them look at the audio jack, since sound only comes out of one ear unless I turn the headphone plug at a very specific angle (and no, it's not the headphones, I tried with three different sets and got the same thing). Something's probably stuck in it, so in lieu of messing with it myself I'll have them look. If they can't fix it I still have it under warranty.
