Having been relatively patient for the past *looks it up* 3 weeks I feel that I now have the right to say this:

I want my Hermes back! Especially since I have another study hall and very little work right now. I could be working on my opus, but since standardized testing is going on for the 10th graders I can't get at the school computers. One quirk about me is that I can't stand being unproductive like that.

Now that I've got that out, I can wait again. Oh how dependent I am on that little HP...

Just finished making brownies and cookies for the party we're having in Gay and Lesbian Lit tomorrow since the 10th graders have a three hour standardized test. I just got the urge to make them coming home, and ended up buying way too many eggs (I can't resist a "buy one get one free" deal) though I've been meaning to get more protein in my diet as of late.

I played around and made three different types of cookies: Regular butter cookies, chocolate chip, and chocolate chip with a Hershey's Kiss on top. If anyone asks I'll go into some scholarly rant in my mock-professor voice about how they represent the diverse range of sexualities, even though that's not the real reason. I was bored, didn't have enough chips, an excess of Kisses, and felt silly. Plus it seems like a good way to break the ice in a class that had us write "LESBIAN SUBTEXT" in our notes really big. ^-^

Also found out that Steel Drum class with Mr. Messier is very fun, and I think the review of basics of music is actually going to be good for me. Plus, I didn't realize how much I'd missed his squirrel-like energy after I didn't have enough time to be in the band this year. So far it's been fun.

Finally fate smiled upon the girl who would dress as a boy in Boston

I finally had some good luck in the cosplay department yesterday when I was at the Salvation Army. Just as I was preparing to leave something caught my eye - and lo and behold, it's a short-sleeved white shirt with a stand-up collar. I was overjoyed, especially when I realized that not only did it fit, but it's made of silk. Great find. It's something of a legacy of my Celtic heritage to bargain hunt like that, and it payed off. Yay!

Finding a mandarin style collar on just a plain shirt was surprisingly hard, but given how hot it appeared to be last year the fact that it's short sleeved works. So now I've got one finished Kudakitsune, one pair of frames, and now I have one Watanuki! I just have to wait until April, when I can show it off.

Turns out I've been doing that for years. I think some people I'm close to might find it weird, but it really does help me cement things in my mind. And I have this, which stands in for talking out loud.
