Mine eyes!
Apr. 3rd, 2008 10:33 pmSo I finally got to go to that eye doctor and get me checked out. Looks like I don't have any eye diseases or stuff like that, I'm just nearsighted... or was it farsighted? I have some mental block about remembering which is which, but whichever one I have is myopia. >_<
I also determined that I'll be sticking with glasses at least for the time being, since I have a phobia about things going in or near my eyes. And the whole "dilate your pupils" thing is weird. I keep freaking myself out when I look in the mirror.
It'll be a week or two until they have my lenses, so until then I'll try not to bump into anything. We ordered a normal set and a sunglasses set, so that should definitely help. As soon as they put me in the machine with all the lenses trying to figure out what ones I need, and it was a big difference. I still can't believe I haven't noticed this. We also cleared up the mystery of why I can only wink one eye. Apparently it's genetic like rolling your tongue, not some symptom of this. Huh.
Speaking of lenses, I picked out a pair of frames that I think compliment my face well, and though I'm a little nervous about the sturdiness of them (what with my propensity for breaking things) we also have a 2 year warranty on them.
Pics when I get my specs, so we can all bask in the meganekko goodness. Though in the mean time I'm going to bow out of driving for our Con Law trip Thursday to Boston, since I don't want to put someone into the position of having read the signs to me. I'll email Stella tomorrow to let her know.
Now if only my pupils would look normal again. 0_o
