I have a flute recital tomorrow, and as per tradition it's a dessert potluck. Jim, my teacher, actually asked if we had the recipe for something we brought a few years ago that's a sort of multi-layered thing with cookie dough, peanut butter, chocolate and M&Ms (making you drool yet?) and I decided to make them today.
I think I did most of it right, though at the moment they're cooling in the refrigerator so I haven't test-sampled any yet. As Mom was in the kitchen she noticed that the box of confectionery sugar she'd gotten especially for this hadn't been opened, as I'd looked right over it and put regular sugar in the peanut butter part, when the recipe had called for the confectionery sugar Mom had bought specially for it.
Ah, whoops~!
I don't think they'll be inedible just because of that, but the peanut butter part will probably be crunchy rather than smooth. This might not be too bad, since I actually prefer crunchy to mushy, but it was an oversight on my part.
*nervous laugh*
