Pft, "Reliable Connection"
May. 31st, 2010 05:30 pmI can't help but flip off my TV every time RCN has an ad where they talk about their "reliable connection." Oh really? Then why do I have to fix some problem with it practically every week?
They're weird errors too. The Vonage phone, which is plugged into the router, will be working fine, but I won't be able to connection to our wifi network. Usually the only solution then is to reset the damn thing, and that involves going into Jen and Nadia's room where the router is. If they're there I just knock, ask if I can, pop in and do it, but if not I just knock and then go in. I don't like going in there when they're not here, but I'm paying almost $50 a month for this service, so I need to be able to get at it.
Luckily Angelo's router is in the common room, so both parties can access it. The setup of this apartment means that only one person can really have access to it, though the cable TV does go to both rooms. It's probably a consequence of this building being built in 1912 or so, meaning that the wiring is all weird. Angelo's place was built in the 1960s so it's a bit more modern in that respect.
