Just because you're attracted to beautiful things does not mean that you're shallow! So don't feel guilty if you base a few decisions on the way things look. Your appreciation for beauty is based on your own set of criteria, not on popular opinion -- and that is important to remember. Don't worry too much about what other people think of your decisions -- because other people do not have to live with the consequences of your actions. Go your own way without apology.
Well, we put a deposit on the Rav4, and I should be able to pick it up Thursday after they get one part in. It shouldn't be as much of a pain-in-the-ass as the Prizm, since I have the plates already and just need to do insurance stuff. I think it's the right decision, as when we went to take it for a test drive the car felt very comforting, and my mom suggested that if someone gives me grief I can say it's a "Green Car", referring specifically to the color. *dodges brick*
I also saw Mark today, and he thinks that I'm making the right choice (and he's notably finicky about cars) so it should work out. He also pointed out that it's a 1997 model, so it's not like I'm buying a new car and I'll only have it for a few years, assuming I don't convert it to some sort of biofuel if the technology becomes more available. Plus, compared to the 2005 Toyotas on the lot mine is a shrimp. It's not even funny, and I actually laughed out loud when I got at a good angle to compare. Oh man...
One of the first things I'll do is vacuum it and maybe try to wash the upholstery. It is good that I'm getting back to my life fairly quickly here, since I think that's the best for me. Plus, it is really hard to find fuel efficient cars, so this was a comparative steal.
