Also, does anyone know any guides to writing about combat? That's one thing that's been strangling my muse lately, since whenever I try to write about a fight scene it ends up sounding awkward. And given that the main characters are samurai, this is a problem. Linkys? Tips? Scraps?
Try describing the fight scene to someone verbally. Then write down what you just said! I'm trying to think of books with fight scenes (especially sword fights), but the only ones I can think of aren't in print any more. There was a very short lived Highlander book series based off the television show. If you could track down one of those they have fight scenes in them.
