So I avoid Facebook like the plague for the most part, but Jonathan *waves friendlily* asks to add me and I go to confirm that. That was a good thing. While I'm there I see the other people waiting for friend confirmations, and there was one I forgot about:
Guy I knew from high school whose older brother I liked, but the guy himself was generally a overly confrontational jerk who was always trying to one-up me. Oh, and my then-girlfriend turned around from dumping me after a week and went to date him, and that's still a sore spot from me.
So the message from him to me in the friends request? "Hey, it's [guy's name] I found you on here, and by the way on my profile there are pictures of me and [my ex-girlfriend who turned around and started dating him]! Go take a look!"
Now I'm not going to stretch it too far and say he did that on purpose just to provoke me, but it sure as hell felt like it. His friendly tone was also odd since we last saw each other while shooting (metaphorical) daggers at each other, so it may be that he's just forgotten about all that and thinks it's all good. Wrong.
The wonders of technology: Dredging up stuff you'd have rather forgotten about and hearing from people you'd rather not. *grr*
