... Chipmunk?

Today at work wasn't especially noteworthy, since I basically sat around for a long time waiting for concrete to dry while they're doing work on our track, but there was one little highlight.

I went into the tunnel and was doing something in there when I realize that this thing is watching me. I look over and there's a furry pair of ears over the top of the track just looking at me. A chipmunk! It then got spooked and hid under one of the brushes, and I decided to try and chase it out with a broom since I didn't want it to get trapped in there.

The people outside must've thought I was out of my mind what with the way I was running around with a broom making loud noises, but I think it finally got out. I also sometimes trap dragonflies that get stuck in there between two cups and take them outside, since they're too dumb to find their way out on their own most times.

But yeah, second-to-last day and I have to deal with a chipmunk. Incidentally I haven't seen one around our house in quite some time, probably due to certain large furry cats. Hmm...

I completely saw that in my mind in anime-mode for some reason. A little chibi you running around with a large broom chasing chipmunks, and then an outside view with puzzled people looking over to you in confusion. Haha, I think I need to get out more, or perhaps I just read too much manga. ;P

I had that mental image myself and tend to get that type of manga-style chibi daydream in other situations too, so it's probably the same situation with me. ;)

A chipmunk, huh? Did it turn its head around to the tune of a dramatic music sting? (Yeah, I know the thing in the video is a prairie dog, but lots of people get 'em confused...heh.)

It didn't do that, but I did wonder if it was about to start speaking in a pitched up voice and sing. ;)
