The Republicans are cheating bastards

... At least the ones on my floor are. We had a mock election between the dorm floors mirroring the national election, and the suite full of (mostly Republican) guys at the end of the hall stuffed the "ballot box" on the RA's door with votes for McCain after they stole everyone else's slips. My room escaped having ours stolen, but otherwise they rigged it for our entire floor.

Oh, and then someone else stole the box itself so we don't even get credit for participating! So some other floor will get a prize for having participated and we get nothing, but even if we had been counted we probably would have had ours thrown out because of the aforementioned stupidity. This also isn't the first time the College Republicans have made asses of themselves, not since a rather notable incident last month when they put up a flyer that basically had Obama in blackface, but when called out on accusations of racism they not only admitted to doing it on purpose to get people mad, but played the minority card and said that everyone who thought their poster was racist was themselves racist. I went to the forum about that, and I'm honestly surprised that the hall didn't erupt into a brawl when they said that since about half of the Black Student Union, Rainbow Alliance and most of the Hispanic Alliance was there as well. It was roughly the equivalent of insulting the mother of every single Irish gangster in the city of Boston and not expecting to get beaten to a pulp, so I have to commend the moderators for keeping it civil.

I just hope this isn't foreshadowing of something happening on the real election day, though it is pretty *facepalm* worthy.

Seems like every college residence on the planet is full of idiots. I remember many similar acts of stupidity happening when I was in residence in my first year.

It certainly gives new meaning to the phrase "sophomoric behavior" though it's sadly not surprising. I suspect they're the same people who keep covering my Safe Zone sticker.

Wait, everyone who thought blackface, one of the most vile symbols of the white-dominated past around, was racist was in turn themselves racist? How the hell would that work? Oh, right. Attack politics. Doesn't have to make sense; just invoke rage and lead the mob where you want it to go.

What the College Republicans claimed happened was that they made the poster to invoke the "if you put lipstick on a pig it's still a pig" remark Obama supposedly made, but to everyone with a brain it looked like blackface, and no one believes them for a second that they didn't do it on purpose. Their president also basically admitted to doing it on purpose to "provoke a discussion" but really all he's done is make himself look like an ass and made every other campus organization unwilling to work with them. In short, they failed in just about every count.

Aye, idiots. There are always some stupid people who think doing stuff like this is funny or really intelligent. (BTW - it is neither).

Now about Obama, this just in the San Francisco Newspaper has an interview with Obama saying that he intends to bankrupt the coal business, this includes power plants which supply 49% of the US engery needs. Higher energy costs lead to higher food prices, higher engery bills, and lower job growth.
