We've got our feet on the wire, talking 'bout flying maybe we're diving in over our heads

One thing I've been thinking about lately is the fact that, barring something totally unexpected, in a little over a year I'm going to have graduated. And my only response to that thought is a terrified "meep".

And the reason it's a little more immediate than for the other people in my year is that I transferred those credits in and am thus getting out a semester early, so this is basically my fault. It also pushes the point at which I really have to start thinking about it forward. Am I gonna stay in Boston, among other things, is a big question.

And in the more immediate future Angelo, who actually is graduating this spring, doesn't yet know if he's gonna stay in the city, and by extension this apartment, so that raises the possibility that I'll either have to find a new roommate or a new apartment for just the fall of next year. It's pretty daunting to think about, and at the moment it's all a big "if" that I can't do anything about at the moment.

So yeah, basically all I can do at this point is wait and think about it.

You have the advantage of having 7.8 more mental years of maturity than most people. Plus, y'know, there's always graduate work. Also, assuming you take them, the fourth-year courses should leave you itching to apply your skills in the real world. (Where you'll get crushed, but still, y'know....)

It does help that I have a decent job that will look really good on a resume (not many college students manage to land jobs with state agencies) but it's definitely not what I want to do in the future. Still, it helps.
