Have you asked if they have a "subscription" service or a customer holding area? At my local comic shop, the proprietor will hold comics for customers and will even go so far as to order more copies of a specific title if you request it of him.
When I moved back to my parents after my divorce I stopped by and asked if he would set certain titles aside for me and for the ones he wasn't currently getting he started ordering them because I asked for it. In fact he told me that within two weeks of my requesting a certain title he had three others request it as well. Since I only get a few titles I only stop in once or twice a month, but since he holds them I don't have to worry about them selling out before I get in to pay for them.
