Ode to Subaru
Dec. 7th, 2004 07:43 pmWritten on the plane flying over Montana:
You were one of the best I had known
Kind, strong and without strife
Loyal and following your heart to the end
You stood by me even in my time of greatest need
In you I held the greatest faith
To you my worst secret I revealed
And then you just held me
As I wept for my own stupidity
You cared for me when it seemed the world had turned away
You and my brother lifted me up from my sorrow
You followed your heart when others would waiver
Never disowning me
But forgiving my sins
And I cared for you more than I could know
I remember your words
As you made your decision
Facing death itself to do what was right
I could not sway you
Despite my tears and pleas
And your heart too ached with painful knowledge of death
Your hand on my cheek seemed to set my on fire
Unable to do anything but hear your final words
And how they echoed even after you left
When the news came to me
I wept for all I felt
How I loved you
And wished I had done more
I will not forget you Subaru
How you stayed loyal to your heart
And died for your principles
You were one of the best I had known
Kind, strong and without strife
Loyal and following your heart to the end
You stood by me even in my time of greatest need
In you I held the greatest faith
To you my worst secret I revealed
And then you just held me
As I wept for my own stupidity
You cared for me when it seemed the world had turned away
You and my brother lifted me up from my sorrow
You followed your heart when others would waiver
Never disowning me
But forgiving my sins
And I cared for you more than I could know

As you made your decision
Facing death itself to do what was right
I could not sway you
Despite my tears and pleas
And your heart too ached with painful knowledge of death
Your hand on my cheek seemed to set my on fire
