Boku no Katana (my sword)

I had a point... what was it? Oh yeah, I was in contact with Tyriel again today. He sort of goes on and off, there sometimes, not others, in fact, he's with me right now. Darn, lost my point again.
Oh, now I remember! We got a bunch of stuff from my grandmother's house in Oregon, and among them were a couple of Nazi sabers my grandfather got in Germany. They aren't real swords, they're dulled, but with my abilities I could tell a bit about the officers who owned them. The rattier looking of the two was abandoned in a guard post, when the Russians were coming. The nicer one was a 20-ish officer who was shot through the head. That's what I can tell by touching things.
But I remembered my old sword, still trying to figure out why in god's name my cousin had it after I died, I think they were supposed to be buried... but that aside, my old Katana must have been chalk full of bad memories. Since we samurai never took off our swords except when we slept, and even then they were by our pillows (seriously!), they really absorbed our esscences. It would be interesting if it's still around somewhere. It was a nice one, sort of a gold inlay, with a little charm on the hilt. I kinda miss that thing. Because it absorbs part of your soul it feels like an extension of your body.
Speaking of those: I keep forgetting to ask Ashley which sword, the Katana or the dagger, she used to kill herself that life. I think it was the dagger, but I'm not sure. But getting back to the real point, Tyriel mentioned something about my ability to unlock the history of things that are not technically "souls", and so he was making an allusion to what happened today... Eh, lost it again. Need sleep and electric blanket.
