Home sweet home

So now I'm officially done with my first (technical) year and am back at home for the summer. It was interesting getting my stuff into the car in Boston (mostly because the people who were going to help me flaked out on me so I had to load up the cart and take it down by myself, bastards) but I was proud of myself for managing to lift my fridge by myself. Granted, I took the door off before I tried to lift it, but that's still an accomplishment for me since I didn't kill myself doing it.
We also managed to avoid the traffic that I tend to run into coming back, maybe because it was a Thursday. I am glad to be back and actually have privacy, a kitchen, a bathtub, and cats again. You know, the little things.
And lo and behold, today and on Monday I actually have job interviews for summer positions! It's sort of sad, I'm so used to hearing nothing from employers in Boston that I was honestly surprised that I got calls back on these two. It seems that this area hasn't been quite as hard hit by the recession, maybe because there are fewer people (especially during the summer when the college students leave). So that's a welcome surprise. Maybe I can actually land something and stop feeling like such a parasite.
