Drowning in kitchen utensils

athenaltenaThe last week has really kicked me in the ass for some reason. A few days ago I almost managed to choke on a piece of ice I swallowed by accident, but I obviously survived that. The day before yesterday my asthma was acting up to, so I actually took a hit of my inhaler so I'd be more comfortable, which reminded me of why I hate taking that stuff. Yesterday I was absolutely exhausted for some reason and felt like I was going to fall asleep while we were out, but today's looking up.
We've been gathering kitchen utensils for my apartment since unlike some of the other people in this building who let the stove become just another place to store stuff I intend to cook on it. I actually tried making potatoes au gratin two nights ago since I like that stuff, and the conclusion was that I needed more cheese and to stir it better. Oh well, practice makes perfect. And as my mom's pointed out when we did a bit of a spree buying kitchen stuff, I'm probably going to end up with better stuff in my kitchen than what she has, but so far it's just been the basics. I'll also likely have this stuff for years, so it's a good investment.
We also got a little hand held fire extinguisher for the kitchen, though it's not the red type most commonly seen and actually looks like something from Star Trek. I'd rather have it than not, though, and I've already decided that there will be no candles in my apartment since I've heard way too many stories of people leaving them and coming back to find the whole building on fire. Best not to tempt fate.
We also got some dishes from my aunt, and she offered us a gate-legged table that we could put somewhere. While we were there I also dropped Sara's name into the conversation without saying how I knew her, since while I'm not out to this aunt I highly suspect she knows I'm gay, though she hasn't said it explicitly. I seriously doubt she'd have any problems with it, but if she's going to play mind games I can play them right back (yes it's genetic).
And I think my pots and pans just showed up by FedEx. Eek, September 1st is so close yet so far away.
