Yuh-oh

I may make fun of my friends for letting food spoil, and while I'm not above that I at least check stuff lest I poison myself.

Case in point, I had taken out some cooking spray and applied it to the pan, only to then wonder why it smelled weird. I checked the bottom of the can, and what do you know? It's "best by" date was July 2009.

Into the trashcan it went, and into the sink the pan went to be cleaned thoroughly before I put non-expired spray on it and threw what I was cooking in the oven.

Now to finish up the research methods exercise I have to do for tomorrow. Saying it's like pulling teeth is putting it mildly. I seem to do better with the theoretical stuff, but then again I am a philosophy minor.

hmmm.. now I will have to check for dates on my cooking spray..olive oil.. I didn't even think...thank you.

I didn't really think they could expire, but I guess even what's essentially oil has stuff that can spoil. Either way it didn't smell right, and I have the mantra of "if in doubt of the safety of something, throw it away" even without the best by date.

mine is when it doubt. throw it Out.. giggling. you have the right idea. Glad your show went well and you were able to dig in your dig for the DJ prior to your show that was being nasty. I guess a toung stuck out at the time would have been a bit much..?

I just found a bag of Sun-Maid (dried) Mixed Fruit in the refrigerator fruit drawer that said "Best before 03MAR04."

That makes it older than the refrigerator . . .
