Things I overheard while talking to myself

I am in fact still alive, but the last few days have left me with the usual late summer/early fall headache that won't go away and hasn't helped in my attempts to wake up at a reasonable hour (read: before noon), and I blame the pollen for that part at least.

Still prepping stuff for the move, and I'm at the point where half of me is excited and the other half wants to grab onto Jesse-cat and not let go. There's more or less the adult saying "Yay! Independence and responsibility!" while the kid is going "No! Scary new thing!" The adult is obviously going to win by sheer strength alone, but I will acknowledge that the kid makes a convincing argument at times.

New computer will hopefully show up tomorrow or Tuesday, and then I can finally scan a sketch I'm quite proud of (shading techniques for the win). I could scan it on another computer and email it to myself, but the compression required to do that makes the quality purist in me foam at the mouth. It'll be soon enough that it'll show up with any luck.

Whoa. I disappeared for a bit, didn't I? Despite this not much has been happening, but here are the highlights.

Finally got my hair cut by our friend April yesterday, and it turns out that I last got my hair cut in May. Wow. No wonder I was approaching mullet territory. I also bought some frames for some artwork I bought in Cape Cod that were $3 a piece, which in my book is a steal.

Mom and I went back to that place The Trading Post, where I got the headboard, and managed to find a set of drawers. They need a bit of TLC, but they should work pretty well, and it turns out that when you take the drawers out it's pretty light, which is good since we have to take it up 3 flights of stairs, and as far as I know this building does not have an elevator.

Also had a weird dream last night that involved a chibi-Hannibal (the conqueror, not the cannibal). It was... quite strange. There was also an elephant running around. I'm half tempted to find the author of the book I'm reading about Hannibal, who happens to live in our town, and telling him "What did you do done to my subconscious?!"

Oh, and I made a silly drawing based off of something that happened in that roleplaying game. It was also my first attempt to do some skin shading, and it sort of failed. Oh well. Practice makes perfect.

Lately I've been drawing again, so I did my character Toreuol from Path to Power in an embarrassing situation. Even though she's "me" in the game she wears things I would never wear, and this picture illustrates why I would never wear them.

I think this turned out pretty well, though her legs are slightly screwed up. I just like how the facial expression turned out. I enjoy tormenting my creations. :D
